A USB-C hub turns one port on a thin laptop into the ports you actually need: HDMI for a monitor, USB-A for older accessories, a card reader, wired Ethernet and a way to keep charging. The six hubs below go from a pocket-size four-port USB-C hub to a 10-in-1 hub with 2.5Gbps Ethernet and 140W charging.
Every specification on this page comes from the manufacturer’s own product page, checked on 26 October 2026. We have not used these products ourselves, so the picks are based on published specifications only.

How we chose these
- USB-C Power Delivery pass-through, so you can charge the laptop through the hub.
- Full port specifications published, including the charging power the hub passes to the laptop, not just the input rating.
- Different needs covered: USB-C only, travel, desk with Ethernet, and a high-power option for large laptops.
A hub keeps some power for itself. That is why each maker lists a lower figure for the power that actually reaches the laptop than for the charger you plug in.

1. Satechi 4-Port USB-C Hub with Power Delivery: for USB-C accessories only
If your drives, phone cables and dongles are already USB-C, this is the simplest option: Satechi’s hub turns one USB-C port into four USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports at 10Gbps each. It takes up to 100W from a USB-C charger and passes up to 75W to the laptop. It measures 2.4 by 2.4 inches and weighs 50 grams, with a 6.6-inch cable.
- Model ST-H4CPDM (Space Grey). 2-year warranty (Satechi).
Pros: four fast USB-C ports; very small and light.
Cons: no HDMI, USB-A, Ethernet or card reader; 75W may be less than a large laptop draws.

2. Satechi 6-in-1 USB-C Slim Multiport Adapter: for travel with a monitor and SD cards
Satechi’s 6-in-1 adds an HDMI port at 4K 60Hz, two USB-A ports, SD and microSD readers rated at 104 MB/s, and a 100W Power Delivery input that passes up to 75W to the laptop. It weighs 49.5 grams and has a braided cable with a reinforced neck.
- Card reader: micro/SD, 104 MB/s, UHS-I.
- Size: 4.70 x 1.08 x 0.38 in. 2-year warranty.
Pros: lightest hub here with HDMI; card readers for cameras.
Cons: one of the two USB-A ports is USB 2.0 speed (480Mbps); no Ethernet.

3. Plugable USB-C 6-in-1 Hub (USBC-6IN1): for a high-refresh monitor and USB-A accessories
Plugable’s 6-in-1 has an HDMI 2.1 port that supports up to 4K at 144Hz or 8K at 30Hz, but only when the laptop, display and HDMI cable all support that bandwidth. Plugable notes that base M1 and M2 MacBooks top out at 4K 60Hz. It adds one USB-C and three USB-A ports, all at 5Gbps, and passes up to 85W from a 100W charger.
- HDMI needs a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, or USB4 or Thunderbolt. No drivers needed (Plugable).
- Built-in cable about 17 cm (6.7 in). 2-year warranty.
Pros: high-refresh 4K support on compatible laptops; four USB data ports.
Cons: no Ethernet or card reader (Plugable points to its 8-in-1 for those); single HDMI output.

4. Satechi 7-in-1 USB-C Slim Multiport Adapter with Ethernet: for a desk with wired internet
The 7-in-1 keeps the slim aluminum body and adds Gigabit Ethernet. Both USB-A ports run at 10Gbps, and Satechi rates pass-through charging at up to 80W from a 100W input. HDMI output is 4K at 60Hz, and the SD and microSD readers are rated at 104 MB/s.
- Size: 5.19 x 1.27 x 0.49 in; weight 64.5 g. 2-year warranty.
Pros: Ethernet plus card readers in a slim body; both USB-A ports at 10Gbps.
Cons: no USB-C data port; HDMI limited to 4K 60Hz.

5. Plugable USB-C 8-in-1 Hub (USBC-8IN1E): for one hub that does a bit of everything
The 8-in-1 combines the 6-in-1’s HDMI 2.1 port with Gigabit Ethernet and SD and microSD readers that Plugable rates at up to 104 MB/s with simultaneous read and write. The trade-off is fewer fast USB ports: one USB-C and one USB-A at 5Gbps, plus a USB 2.0 port.
- Size: 152.1 x 34 x 14 mm; weight 103 g; built-in cable about 17 cm.
- Same HDMI conditions as the 6-in-1: DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB4 or Thunderbolt host.
Pros: HDMI 2.1, Ethernet and card readers in one hub.
Cons: only two 5Gbps USB ports; heavier than the Satechi slim hubs.

6. Plugable USB-C 10-in-1 Hub (USBC-10IN1E): for large laptops and fast drives
The 10-in-1 is the only hub here that supports USB-C PD 3.1 EPR: with a 140W EPR charger and a laptop that supports it, Plugable says up to 125W reaches the laptop, because the hub keeps about 15W for its own ports. On a PD 3.0 laptop, input is limited to 100W. It also has 2.5Gbps Ethernet and three 10Gbps data ports.
- Plugable says the two USB-C data ports are for data only; video goes through HDMI.
- Host cable: USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps), about 0.17 m. 2-year warranty.
Pros: most charging headroom and fastest Ethernet here; three 10Gbps ports for SSDs.
Cons: 125W charging needs an EPR charger and laptop; Plugable does not list its weight on the page.

Practical tips
- Check that your laptop’s USB-C port supports video (DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB4 or Thunderbolt) before you rely on a hub’s HDMI port.
- Expect the laptop to receive less than your charger’s rating, because the hub keeps some power for itself (about 15W on the Plugable 10-in-1).
- Need two monitors? These hubs have one HDMI port each. See our docking station basics for multi-monitor options.
